On January 9, Chi Yu, Party Leadership Group Member and Deputy Director of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, led a delegation to visit the National Center of Technology Innovation for Smart Process Manufacturing (referred to as the NCTI-SPM) for research and discussions.
Du Wenli, Director of the NCTI-SPM, welcomed Chi Yu and his delegation and provided an overview of the center’s objectives, organizational structure, operational mechanisms, and functional services.
Chi Yu expressed gratitude for the warm reception and highlighted that the Department of Industry and Information Technology is fully implementing the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Government’s directives to build a globally influential hub for industrial technology innovation. Efforts are focused on advancing Jiangsu’s 1650 industrial system and key industrial chains, accelerating initiatives in intelligent transformation, digitalization, and networking (referred to as Zhi Gai Shu Zhuan Wang Lian), and supporting the province’s new industrialization and high-quality manufacturing sector. As one of Jiangsu’s 16 advanced manufacturing clusters, the software and information services cluster prioritizes industrial software and emerging industries. Jiangsu places great emphasis on the innovative development of the industrial software sector, establishing a coordinated provincial-municipal-district support mechanism and a funding-investment-loan-guarantee system to encourage industrial software R&D institutions and leading industrial enterprises to form innovation consortia. These efforts aim to tackle challenges in foundational and industrial software through collaborative supply-demand partnerships and industry-academia-research joint tackling key problems. Chi Yu welcomed the NCTI-SPM to establish high-level innovation platforms in Jiangsu to support the digital transformation and high-quality development of the province’s process manufacturing industry.
Representatives from the Software and Information Services Division and the Technology Innovation Division of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, as well as relevant personnel from the NCTI-SPM, participated in the research visit.
