Open cooperation drives technological advancement, and gathering talents and intelligence shapes the future. On the morning of July 13, the Achievement Transformation and Talent Exchange Cooperation Conference, themed Talents Gather in Ningxia, Innovation Creates the Future, opened at the Yinchuan International Exchange Center. During the opening ceremony, the National Center of Technology Innovation for Smart Process Manufacturing (NCTI-SPM) signed an agreement with the Ningdong Energy and Chemical Industry Base Management Committee to jointly establish the Ningdong Sub-Center. Wenli Du, director of NCTI-SPM, and Jijun Xiao, member of the Party Working Committee of the Ningdong Base, attended the ceremony and signed the agreement.
Approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology in December 2022 and led by East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) with Academician Feng Qian of the Chinese Academy of Engineering serving as Chief Scientist, NCTI-SPM is the first national technological innovation center in China’s process manufacturing sector. Positioned as a national strategic scientific and technological force in the field, the center is committed to breaking through key core technologies and industrial software for intelligent regulation in process manufacturing, industrializing major research achievements, and overcoming critical bottlenecks hindering the digital transformation and green, low-carbon optimization and upgrading of China’s petrochemical, steel, and building materials industries. This provides robust support for the industry’s high-level technological self-reliance and innovation.
According to the agreement, NCTI-SPM and the Ningdong Management Committee will jointly establish the Ningdong Sub-Center. The sub-center will focus on addressing the needs of enterprises in the Ningdong Base, driving technological innovation and achievement transformation in areas such as process twin in production, intelligent optimization and regulation of key units, multi-timescale intelligent scheduling of resources/energy, collaborative decision-making across the coal chemical industry chain, integrated management of hazardous chemical production-transportation-storage in industrial parks, and dynamic monitoring and early warning for critical equipment intrinsic safety.
